1995 – The ECHMB Act
The Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank act of 1995 gave legal effect and facilitated the implementation of the provisions of the Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank Agreement. (full text ) 
 

 

  

1996 – 2000 ECHMB - Steady Progress
Amidst significant challenges, the Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank (ECHMB) has made steady progress in its three years of operation. Indications are that the resources of the traditional primary lenders are becoming increasingly stretched, and alternate-financing sources will be needed. It is hoped that the existing barriers will be broken down gradually, and these institutions will see the wisdom of turning to the ECHMB. (full text )
 
2001 - Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank - 2001 Annual Report
ECHMB has entered the new millennium on a high note. The institution continues to display consistent performance in the face of continued difficult market conditions on both sides of the business. The current situation of a market over-loaded with government securities along with the continued tradition among primary lenders to hold mortgages on their books to maturity, have presented the Bank with some challenges.

2002 - Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank - 2002 Annual Report
The Directors are pleased to present the Annual Report of Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank (ECHMB) with the Audited Financial Statements for the year ended March 31, 2002. During the year ECHMB continued to make timely interventions in the market to provide additional finance for mortgages. For the year ended March 31, 2002, ECHMB reported net income amounting to $1.36 million, an increase of 19.3 % over the previous year. Net total assets increased marginally by 0.44 % over the previous year. Earnings per share reached $13.56 compared with $11.43 at the year ended March 31, 2001. Retained earnings of ECHMB at the end of the year stood at $1,912,087. (full text)


2003 - Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank - 2003 Annual Report
The Directors are pleased to present the Annual Report of Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank (ECHMB) with the Audited Financial Statements for the year ended March 31, 2003. These Financial Statements report of a landmark achievement by the Bank in reaching $106.6 million in Total Assets. 2004 - Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank - 2004 Annual Report
For the year ended March 31, 2004 ECHMB reported Net Income amounting to $1,900,477 an increase of 28.0% over the previous year. Total Assets increased significantly by 17.4% over the previous year.  Earnings Per Share reached $19.00 compared with $14.84 at the year ended March 31, 2003. (full text )

 

 
2005 - Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank - 2005 Annual Report
For the year ended March 31, 2005 ECHMB reported Net Income amounting to $2,387,434, an increase of 25.6% over the previous year. Earnings Per Share reached $23.87 compared with $19.00 at the year ended March 31, 2004. These numbers indicate that in 2004/05 ECHMB marked another year of accomplishment and solid growth. The strength of the financial results is especially pleasing given the declining yield in mortgages, the depletion in the portfolio due to refinancing, and the increasing competitive pressures in the mortgage industry. The ability of ECHMB to provide solid results in this environment is testimony to the strength of its commitment with its partners, as well as its ability to originate innovative approaches to grow its business while maintaining responsible business practices. 2006 - ECHMB - 10 Years of Commercial Operations 'A Regional Success Story'
 
On 22 April 2006 the Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank (ECHMB) reached a milestone, attaining ten (10) years of commercial operations. At the start of its operations in April 1996, ECHMB presented to the mortgage industry an alternative financial model for funding mortgages. Ten (10) years later ECHMB has emerged as a successful corporation with total assets amounting to over $130 million, funded by debt raised in the capital market amounting to $112 million, and equity capital of $15 million. 2006 - Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank - 2006 Annual Report
For the year ended March 31, 2006 ECHMB reported Net Income amounting to $2,251,672, a marginal decrease of 5.7% from the previous year. Earnings Per Share reached $22.51 compared with $23.87 at the year ended March 31, 2005. The strength of the financial results is indicative of the institution's continued growth despite the declining yield in mortgages, the depletion in the portfolio due to refinancing, and the increasing competitive pressures in the mortgage industry. The mortgage market is very often subject to forces beyond its control. And this year ECHMB's performance is a reflection of how external conditions have some what shifted ECHMB's business prospects. 2007 - Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank - 2007 Annual Report

2008 - Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank - 2008 Annual Report
 
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank (ECHMB), I am pleased to present the Annual Report of the ECHMB with the Audited Financial Statements for the year ended 31 March 2008.
 
The 2007/2008 financial year was a watershed year for the ECHMB with regard to the purchase of mortgages. At 31 March 2008, the value of the ECHMB’s mortgage portfolio stood at $129,664,263. This compares favourably with $74, 513,336 at 31 March 2007.
